On the 2020 RS6 coming to North America

On the 2020 RS6 coming to North America

When I first saw that grey RS6 Avant cruising down Presidente Masaryk a few years ago, I was stunned. It had a perfect stance, and the flared fenders made it look very powerful. A very attractive car... for sure. But what kept racing in the back of my mind was... Where did they buy it?

While it is a shame that Audi never imported the RS6 Avant to Mexico through dealers, it’s typical of VWAG to...

Musings.

Musings.

Having class with industrial engineers is like going through purgatory in Dante’s Divine Comedy. Even in a relatively basic class about manufacturing techniques.

Teacher: Do any of you know how wings are attached to the fuselage of airplanes?

I.E.: Riveted?

*teacher sighs*

Other industrials: Ah yes, riveted... of course.

Me: what do you mean rivets?

I.E. : Yeah, like, wings, they’re full of...

Could revive: Mexicana de Aviación

Could revive: Mexicana de Aviación

The President announced that the bankrupt airline could be bought by the Federal government if they find enough money to buy it. It would be an interesting idea, Aeromexico holds a dangerous portion of the Mexican market, and having a flag carrier again would be rather cool.

However, Mexicana doesn’t... actually... have any jets. The fleet of over 100 jets were either sold to pay for debts or...

Diet update

Diet update

Fuck. I’m not meant to weigh this little.

I’m oscillating around 85kg; which is three too little. I’m starting to get a bit worried about it because I keep losing weight.

Today I learned

Today I learned

According to the CIA world factbook, Mexico is the third country with the most air transportation infrastructure. Behind only the US and Brazil.

Shamefully, when it comes to actually using it we fall behind, not even breaking into the top ten for aircraft movements or passengers transported.

According to the world bank, there were 58 million passengers in 2017, the Mexican government on the...

What will change?

What will change?

This friday, women across Mexico marched to raise awareness about violence against them. Crimes like rape, domestic violence, and gender motivated homicide have been on a steady rise since December. In Mexico City things turned a bit more personal.

When four police officers were accused of raping an underage woman in Mexico City, the local government failed to properly investigate, losing...

[Politics opinion]

[Politics opinion]

Prohibiting a member of the United States House of Representatives from visiting you country-as a friendly, and allied nation- is an aberrant insult to the US, freedom of expression, and basic diplomacy. Everyone should be up in arms, both inside the US government and at any national government that has any sort of tie to Israel as an ally or friendly nation.

Are the politics of the...

[Economics]

[Economics]

Today Mexico’s central bank, lowered interest rates by 25bp.

While they remain at 8%, they seem to be preparing for a serious economic slowdown, because Mexico’s central bank normally doesn’t mess with interest rates. Last time they lowered them was five years ago.

Many alarm bells are being rung across the world. Are we headed into another financial crisis?

Engineering question

Engineering question

An architecture student approached me yesterday to ask me a very complicated question. How could he design a water pumping system in the moon. for a homework assignment I guess.

I’m not very confident in my engineering skills, after warning him I told him that I could only imagine a solution to the problem.

Water cannot exist as a liquid in the moon, because the atmosphere is nonexistent, so...

Anyone have experience with N26?

Anyone have experience with N26?

I’m considering changing banks and, while N26 isn’t available here yet, I wonder if any of you have dealt with them or if it’s a good deal. The bank has two products, one with no fees, and one with a fixed 10 dollar-a-month fee but that has virtually free withdrawals at any ATM in any currency.

maybe when they do land in Mexico I’ll give it a look.

Dying: Interjet

Dying: Interjet

Mexico’s IRS is seizing some of Interjet’s assets due to failure to pay debts, Interjet is also having staffing problem, and their purchase of the Sukhoi Superjet is biting them in the ass more and more as time goes by.

It’s a shame because interjet is my favorite airline, it has better service than Volaris or VivaAerobus, and it’s cheaper than Aeromexico.

I don’t care what people say, the Opel Tigra is a fascinating car. It is so fascinating I actually took a picture of one a year ago and freaked out as well.

Yet another coffee shop

Yet another coffee shop

Ourense is more of an ice cream city but i need to work. Truth is, I’ve slacked slightly on my college duty and because of that I’ll be pushing myself more during this semester.

I think I also broke EV etiquette by parking in a charging spot and not actually charging.

It gets worse, Ourense only has like 7 charging spaces in total.

Maybe I should take a break and park properly.

People are...
