PlayStation's Baseball Studio Is Releasing Games On Rival Systems

MLB The Show, a long-running exclusive to PlayStation consoles that is developed by a Sony studio, will now be appearing on other consoles as part of the series’ new licensing deal with Major League Baseball.

The deal means that while the series will continue to appear on Sony systems, it will also be released on “additional console platforms...as early as 2021".

While no specific mention is...

Oh Hell Yeah Vanquish Is Getting Remastered (And Bayonetta Too)

Oh Hell Yeah Vanquish Is Getting Remastered (And Bayonetta Too)

Sega will next year be remastering two of PlatinumGames’ best releases—Bayonetta and Vanquish—and bringing them to the PS4 and Xbox One.

Bayonetta, cool, we all know Bayonetta, but fuck yeah Vanquish is back! The cult classic shooterkinda split opinions at release in 2010 , but as its 2017 release on PC showed it’s slippy-slidey gunplay, unrelenting pace and over-the-top action sequences are...

Total Tank Simulator Sure Looks Familiar

Total Tank Simulator Sure Looks Familiar

Total Tank Simulator is coming on PC for anyone who, like me, misses Battlefield Heroes dearly . And let’s get this out of the way first: it has nothing to do with Totally Accurate Battlefield Simulator.

Despite the name, premise, art style and colour scheme looking a lot like Landfall’s cult hit, this is actually coming from a different developer and publisher, so...yeah, that’s odd.

The game...

I'll Pass On These $1140 League Of Legends Sneakers, Thanks

I'll Pass On These $1140 League Of Legends Sneakers, Thanks

League of Legends has a fashion collab with Louis Vuitton that’s now out and available to purchase. If you’ve ever wanted to spend over $600 on a video game t-shirt, now’s your chance.

There’s a line of mostly women’s focused apparel and a pair of sneakers available, and as you’d expect with such a gaudy partnership, this is more of a marketing exercise for both parties than a chance for...

The Latest Assassin's Creed Collection Is A Reminder Of What Made The Old Games Great

The Latest Assassin's Creed Collection Is A Reminder Of What Made The Old Games Great

One of the most extraordinary things about the games in the new Assassin’s Creed Rebel Collection is their diverse subject matter: a game about being a pirate-assassin in the Caribbean in the late 18th century, a game about disrupting the slave trade in the same region, a game about being an assassin turned assassin-hunter during the Seven Years’ War.

That’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag ,...

Table Manners, A Video Game About Very Bad Tinder Dates

Table Manners, A Video Game About Very Bad Tinder Dates

This is Table Manners, a video game in which you sit down across from your date, pour them a glass of wine, thrust fish in their face, spill food all over the table then set everything on fire.

Or at least that’s how I envisage spending most dates in this physics title, which looks a lot like Surgeon Simulator , only with more steak. It’s due out on PC early next year.

Phoenix Point Is MIA On Xbox Game Pass

Phoenix Point Is MIA On Xbox Game Pass

Phoenix Point, the latest strategy game from XCOM creator Julian Gollop, was released last week on the Epic Games Store. It was also supposed to be out on the Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Pass, but it’s not, and Snapshot Games have basically had to admit “we dropped the ball”.

In a statement released on the company’s official forums, A Snapshot staffer writes:

The fact is we dropped the ball....

RIP Gamerankings.com

RIP Gamerankings.com

Older heads might remember Gamerankings.com, a site that rounded up reviews from all over the place and gave them an overall aggregated figure out of 100, as a cornerstone of forum arguments the world over back in the day. Sadly, it’s about to close its doors.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t even aware the site was still around, so dominant is its more scientific—and not exactly helpful —sister site...

Mario Maker’s New Update Is The Closest Thing To Zelda II Maker We’ll Ever Get

Mario Maker’s New Update Is The Closest Thing To Zelda II Maker We’ll Ever Get

Super Mario Maker 2 has finally leveled up with today’s release of the version 2.0 update. Some carefully-considered new enemies and items open up new creative possibilities, but the big change is the fact that Mario can now transform into Link, with a full suite of new moves that turn Mario Maker levels into Zelda ones—specifically, the side-scrolling Zelda II. And it’s more detailed than...

Amazon Customers Buy Nintendo Switch, Get Sent Condoms, Tambourines & Electric Toothbrushes Instead

There are reports coming out of the UK that at least a dozen people who bought a Nintendo Switch as part of Amazon’s Black Friday sales did not get sent a Nintendo Switch. Instead, they’ve received everything from air freshener to photopolymer resin instead.

The Mirror has been rounding up some of the complaints, which have prompted an apology from Amazon and a promise that the company will be...

Snoop Dogg Is Now A Sports Game Commentator

Snoop Dogg Is Now A Sports Game Commentator

Because why the hell not, Snoop is now an official commentator in EA Sports’ NHL 20.

While this might sound like a random event generator got us to this point, there is a reason behind it: Snoop has done actual NHL commentary work in real games, which if you’ve never heard it is wonderful:

Here’s how he sounds in NFL 20:

New PlayStation Commercial Rips Off Loads Of Artists

New PlayStation Commercial Rips Off Loads Of Artists

A big new commercial for PlayStation Japan, pitched as a music video featuring all the platform’s big holiday games, has a lot of cool animation throughout. Pity, then, that loads of it is copied—down to the smallest detail—from other people’s work.

Here’s the trailer in question:

Ian Jones-Quartey, creator of OK K.O.! (who has also worked on Steven Universe and Adventure Time)...

Majora's Mask Glitch Warps Players Into Developer Test Room

Majora's Mask Glitch Warps Players Into Developer Test Room

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is having something of a glitch renaissance. One particular glitch that allows player to re-write memory values has allowed speedrunners to achieve a Holy Grail trick and warp to the moon . But where else can it go? Well, if done properly, you can even warp behind the scenes.

The method for the warp was outlined by SeedBorn on YouTube. Like the moon warp...

A Tekken Legend's Visit To Pakistan Is Met With Both Cheers And Drama

Over the last year, Pakistan’s fighting game community has risen from relative obscurity to a place of prominence thanks to a handful of its players winning major Tekken 7 tournaments on the world stage. The country has garnered so much attention, in fact, that South Korean veteran Jae-Min “Knee” Bae traveled there last week to train for the Tekken World Tour finals this weekend. What should...

Man Accused Of Using His PlayStation 4 To Sell Cocaine

Last month, the FBI got in touch with Sony and requested information on a PlayStation 4 user who it’s alleged has been using the PlayStation Network to sell cocaine at “$34,000 per kilogram.”

As Motherboard report, the request came in the form of a search warrant filed on October 22, which was asking Sony for any and all details the company had on Curtis Alexander, who was on the PSN as...

Phoenix Point Is A Bigger, Messier XCOM

Phoenix Point Is A Bigger, Messier XCOM

Phoenix Point is a new turn-based tactics game designed by Julian Gollop, the driving force behind the original XCOM, released back in 1994. In 2019, he’s back to build on the experience he helped pioneer all those year ago.

Slight problem, though: he’s not coming in to fix anything that’s broke. XCOM 2 did so much right that, rather than throw everything out and start over, Phoenix Point is...
