That's "Emmy Award winner Quibi" to you, punk

That's "Emmy Award winner Quibi" to you, punk

Dark news from Hollywood tonight, as the Academy Of Television Arts And Sciences has now declared that, henceforth, and until the end of its days (i.e., whenever the money finally runs out), we will now have to refer to the “quick bites,” phone-only streaming service Quibi by its proper title: Emmy Award winner Quibi. Said declaration came in the form of a pair of awards the service won at...

What shows will win, and which should win, at the 2020 Emmys

The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards will still take place on Sunday, September 20, and we can once again count on Jimmy Kimmel to host. The rest feels more up in the air than usual, as the ceremony will be attended virtually by nominees and presenters. Here are A.V. Club TV editor Danette Chavez’s predictions of the winners of the major series awards, as well as some last-minute stumping for ...

Fuck it, let's vote on who's the hottest character from Succession

Fuck it, let's vote on who's the hottest character from Succession

Pretty much every character on Succession, the excellent HBO show about evil rich people being rich and evil, is an absolute scumbag. Just the same, the internet has never had qualms about

getting all horned up over terrible people, fictional or otherwise , so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to learn that a Twitter user with the (notable) handle of @gerrikillallmen has created a...

Succession’s Nicholas Braun reveals his trick to getting into Cousin Greg’s skin

Succession’s Nicholas Braun reveals his trick to getting into Cousin Greg’s skin

Nicholas Braun has officially joined the ranks of child actors who seamlessly transitioned to adult actor without so much as a pause in his career. From youthful roles in movies like

Sky High to recent turns in films like How To Be Single and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot , Braun has consistently turned in solid work. And that work seems to be getting better every year, as evidenced by his latest...

Add a Year To Your PlayStation Plus Membership For Just $45

Every time I listen to the theme song for Succession, the HBO drama about rich people being evil and sexy, I feel pretty evil and sexy. It’s a little less sexy when done in Mario Paint. Something about the “meow” sound effect doesn’t exactly call to mind the prestige of the Roy family, though perhaps it’s more fitting for their often stupid choices.

These Waffle-Weave Towels Are Like Giant, Soft Sponges

Oh look, it’s my

second-daily end of day post about literally anything else . Do I normally care about a BuzzFeed quiz about what Succession character I am? No. Do I care today, after finding out I am a Kendall? You bet I do.

Succession caps off an incredible first season with a wedding, a death, and no shortage of power plays

Nobody wanted to like Succession. Nobody asked for a show about about the rich, white people destroying America. Nobody asked for the Roys—an amalgam of the Murdochs, Redstones, and Trumps—in an economic and cultural climate hobbled by billionaires and clueless media conglomerates. Nobody wanted to like these people, and isn’t the expectation that the show would expect us to like these...

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Sunday, June 3. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Pose (FX, 9 p.m.): Ryan Murphy goes back to his musical roots in Pose, a “dance musical” that takes place in 1980s New York City. Dominique Jackson, Ryan Jamaal Swain, and Indya Moore play fabulous characters who compete in the “balls—where house members challenge each other in...

The co-writer of In The Loop makes wealth look ridiculous in the gripping, uneven Succession

We’ve come a long way from The Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous. Luxury, the likes of which we once fawned over, now rings a sour note in a society where wealth has become increasingly more concentrated. The conglomerates are converging, and the dream of achieving one’s own swimming pool of gold drifts further and further out of reach. Just look at the online reaction to Jonathan “Foodgōd”...
