Let's Go For A Jaunty Ride Around A Park On A Honda Zook

If you aren’t already following the Honda Japan on YouTube, you really ought to be, because they occasionally post some nifty little videos from the Honda Collection Hall museum. The videos often feature an obscure Honda ride—like the Zook here—that you may not have even heard of. While all of this is clearly going down in Japan, there isn’t any dialogue, so you don’t even need to know the language. Hondas speak the language of brap.

The Zook is a personal mobility device that looks like a bar stool stapled to a skate board with a 50cc two-stroke motor somehow wedged under it. Clearly a product of the ‘90s, the Zook is absolutely resplendent in the best shade of teal possible. It was only available in Japan, and was marketed toward trendy young riders for zipping around the city. More than anything, it was intended to be inexpensive, selling for the equivalent of about $650 US dollars in 1990.

With a brief walk-around, some ride-by shots, and a POV segment, the video is short and sweet, introducing you to something cool and new. I really want to import one to ride around during Radwood. Who wants to help me?

I’ll be driving the new Subaru Legacy tomorrow, and I can’t help but think that it is time for a revival of the incredible car/truck Baja. While the Baja has been dead for over a decade—available from 2003-2006—the hacked up Legacy still continues to have hardcore fans and offers a lot of versatility in an attractive package. Manufacturers need...

Beware The Greenwood Corvette Beware The Greenwood Corvette

Take caution! Take care! Do not get too close to the raucous beast that is this 1976 IMSA-spec Greenwood-built C3 Corvette race car. With giant bulging fender flares, tires like steam rollers, and a roar that could wake the dead, this slice of 1970s Americana is not for the easily queasy. And definitely don’t let it anywhere near small...

There are few people in the world with quite the patience for detail like Jonathan Ward and his Icon crew. Like many sporty cars these days, the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 is only available with a transmission that is shifted by computer rather than three pedals and a hand rod thingy. The 3-liter twin-turbo Nissan VR30DDTT is a gem of an engine, and the Q60 chassis is pretty great, too. While the steering is a bit numb and...

While the styling may be a bit polarizing, the Honda Civic hatchback remains one of the benchmarks for a small, fun car. Buyers that chose the excellent six-speed manual, though, had to give up some upgrades in the higher trims. That won’t be the case for the 2020 model year, when you can get a fully-loaded Civic with three...

This is an increasingly common phenomenon, but every now and then you’ll see a Bring a Trailer sale where the only reasonable response is: “Are you fucking kidding me?” The latest example is this, a 1991 Honda CRX Si that just sold at auction for an eyebrow-raising $33,600. And it’s proof that this once-cheap hatchback is destined to follow...
