Character Trailers Are Available Now for Titans

alliterator Sep 29, 2018. 9 comments

Titans will premiere on October 12, which means that DC Universe is upping the advertising for it. So far, the trailers haven’t really gotten much hype from fans, but today, DC released four trailers tailored towards each character.

Robin:

Raven:

Beast Boy:

Starfire:

Honestly, now that I can see more of Starfire and Beast Boy, I’m more excited to watch the show. It appears that Beast Boy is his normal self (although going with “transforming while nude”), but Starfire might be more amnesiac, which is interesting. Also, the humor looks better.

Last week, Lois Lane #1, the first issue of a 12-issue maxi-series starring intrepid reporter and Superman’s wife Lois Lane, came out. It was written by Greg Rucka (Gotham Central, Wonder Woman) and illustrated by Mike Perkins. You need to buy it. Right now.I don’t want to spoil things too much, because being surprised is part of the fun,...

What to Do With Wally West What to Do With Wally West

The last issue of Heroes in Crisis came out last week and with it came some pretty significant revelations and twists. Let’s talk about what happened with Wally West and where to go from here. For those who haven’t been reading it or know what it’s about, Heroes in Crisis is a nine-issue mini-series by Tom King and Clay...

The Five Best Scenes from Doom Patrol The Five Best Scenes from Doom Patrol

Doom Patrol wasn’t just a great show; it was a revelation. It was the first show to really gives us the weirdness and meta-ness of a Grant Morrison comic. It gave us the completely and utterly bonkers, while also giving us well-written and well-developed characters, grounding an insane show with some of the best writing and acting around. And...

Tom King to Leave Batman...and Begin Batman/Catwoman Tom King to Leave Batman...and Begin Batman/Catwoman

It was recently reported that Tom King, the current writer on Batman, would be taken off the book after issue #85 . This was surprising, considering King began writing the book back when DC Rebirth happened and has enjoyed a critically acclaimed, if slightly controversial run, that was suppose to last 100 issues. In fact, as recently as last...

Watch the Doom Patrol Pilot for Free for a Limited Time Watch the Doom Patrol Pilot for Free for a Limited Time

DC Universe has released the first episode of Doom Patrol to view for free on YouTube in celebration of its season finale. There is a caveat: it will only be available to watch through May 23, with the finale airing on May 24.I highly recommend watching it if you haven’t seen it before. In fact, I highly recommend the...

My DC (And Marvel) Worries About The Recent Rumors My DC (And Marvel) Worries About The Recent Rumors

If you have been on io9 either today or yesterday, you probably saw this article about alleged demands from DC higher ups to, “stop Batgirling” after an alleged loss of $2 million in revenue between 2014-2015. I say alleged as we have no actual official word from DC and only have Bleeding Cool’s word (which is known to post...

Doom Patrol is About the Harmful Ways We See Ourselves and Others Doom Patrol is About the Harmful Ways We See Ourselves and Others

There’s a moment in the latest episode of Doom Patrol where a character exposits, “There is no reality. There is only perception.”This, in big bolded letters, in the theme to Doom Patrol. The characters who form the team — Cliff Steele, Larry Trainor, Rita Farr, and Crazy Jane — all have problems with perception, the way they see not...

Batman #66 a Rare Misfire in which Nothing Happens Batman #66 a Rare Misfire in which Nothing Happens

I’ve been a fan of Tom King’s writing for some time now. (His Vision and Mister Miracle series were out of this world.) I’ve especially loved his Batman comics, which makes this issue such a disappointment. You can skip Batman #66, because nothing ****ing happens. Spoilers below, if you can spoil nothing. Batman’s been trapped in his own mind...

Doom Patrol 1x02 -- "Donkey Patrol" Doom Patrol 1x02 -- "Donkey Patrol"

A.K.A. “The One That Introduces Cyborg.” I was surprised not only by how much I enjoyed Cyborg in this episode, but also by how well he fit in. Like a lot of others, I wondered why Cyborg was in a Doom Patrol show since he has never been a part of the Doom Patrol in any incarnation. And, well,...

Doom Patrol 1x01 -- "Pilot" Doom Patrol 1x01 -- "Pilot"

They did it. The bastards actually fucking did it. They made a Doom Patrol show and it’s goddamn glorious. First off, I want to say that my initial misgivings were completely wrong: yes, the show is pretty meta and, well, gets even more cheeky than you can sometimes handle (blargh to Mr. Nobody’s “The critics are going to hate...
