Below is a statement from Gizmodo Media Group regarding the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Southern District of New York denying a request to enforce the third-party release that was granted to former Gawker Media reporters and freelancers in a case involving Ryan Goldberg:

“We are deeply disappointed by Judge Bernstein’s ruling. We believe the ruling contradicts the clear purpose of the third-party release. We are considering our options and will continue to stand with and support Ryan Goldberg in this matter. Rigorous journalism is core to a democratic society and this case has been nothing more than an obvious attempt by the plaintiff to intimidate reporters.”
