Dwyane Wade Offered $25 Million To Play For China, Miami Heat Offers $5.3 Million

Basketball is a universal sport and players like Dwyane Wade, have offers everywhere around the world, including China.

Dwyane Wade, now a free agent, has been offered a three-year, $25 million contract to play for the Zhejiang Golden Bull, according to ESPN.

If he accepts the offer, he’ll be the highest paid player in China, being paid more than Andray Blatche, who plays for Xinjiang in the Chinese Basketball Association. It’ll also be one of the biggest overseas deals in history.

The 36-year-old already has 15 seasons under his belt and most of his career consists of playing for the Miami Heat. But the thing is, they can only afford to pay him $5.3 million to return to the team.

Money isn’t the key to happiness but you don’t have to be genius to decide between $25 million and $5.3 million, c’mon Dwyane.

Wade hasn’t made a decision yet but I’m thinking he’s probably trying to work things out with his fam. His wife Gabrielle Union is an actress and I assume much of her time is spent in California, so what will the pair do? Gabby better go with her man to China.

He also has three kids that he can’t just up and leave.

That being said, Wade has such a huge fan base and has inspired so many in the United States. A victim of the Parkland shooting, Joaquin Oliver, was buried in his jersey.

Hopefully Wade makes a decision sooner than later.

Jeanie Buss Should Let Barack Obama Run the Los Angeles Lakers Jeanie Buss Should Let Barack Obama Run the Los Angeles Lakers

As much as it pains me to say this as a fan of Celtics basketball (please stay, Kyrie, I’m sorry about white people), the highs of Celtics fandom aren’t their highest unless the Los Angeles Lakers are better than good. Regardless of NBA Commissioner Adam Silver’s personal leanings (he looks like a Blazers fan), he’d likely appreciate a well-oiled...

At this point, LeBron James is an institution. He’s reached Miles Davis levels of “fuck y’all,” which means you can literally turn your back on the audience while playing your...

The Most Annoying People on the Internet Are Zion Williamson Highlight Truthers The Most Annoying People on the Internet Are Zion Williamson Highlight Truthers

Zion Williamson currently exists in a strange space of the zeitgeist where you’ve likely either already seen roughly 27,000 clips of him dunking on high school teams stocked with Ansel Elgort doppelgangers or you’re reading this and thinking, “Who is Zion Williamson?” Either you’re almost tired of talking about him or you have no clue who or what the...

So, I have this theory about babies, and I’m sure I’m not alone: Most of us come out of the womb looking like low-grade aliens (actually, from the looks of it, I stayed in that phase until around age two), and right around the three-month point, we hit some incredible stride of cuteness—likely, to keep folks motivated enough to...

He was one of two black basketball players to attend the...

I’ll take “What We Already Know” for $1,000, Alex (as in Trebek, as in Jeopardy). It’s no secret that Hollywood carries a (tiki) torch for racism and that when movies feature a predominantly black cast, they’re considered “black movies,” and budgets and expectations are lower. Superstar actress Gabrielle Union stopped by The Root to talk about her amazing book, We’re...

I don't think Dwyane Wade was thinking about all the money Kobe Bryant's protective mask would fetch when he broke his nose and gave him a concussion in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game, but such is life. The two superstars collided, and Bryant was forced to wear one of those protective masks that Richard Hamilton made famous. Now the...
