FIFA Puts An End To The Scourge Of Amazing, Impossible Goalkeeper Goals FIFA Puts An End To The Scourge Of Amazing, Impossible Goalkeeper Goals

Goalkeepers occasionally score goals. Some turn it into an art form; Brazil’s Rogério Ceni scored 131 times. Still, a game where a goalkeeper scores is rare. Even rarer still: a goalkeeper throwing the ball into the other team’s net for a goal.Don’t laugh. It was legal until last month. Nothing but the length of the pitch and 11 opposing...

FIFA Turned A Huge Profit On The World Cup, Of Course FIFA Turned A Huge Profit On The World Cup, Of Course

FIFA is bad. "Bad," as in many of the people who work there are bad, and they often do bad things to the sport of soccer and to the world at large. But let no one ever say that FIFA isn't very, very good at making money: it pulled in more than $2 billion in revenues last year, nearly...

La Liga’s money-grubbing ploy to bring a league match to the U.S. every year always sounded like just about the stupidest idea imaginable. With each additional revelation about the deal, we’re getting a clearer picture of just how moronic and incompetent the plan and the planners behind it truly are. Before assenting to such an enormous and obviously controversial contractual...

Goalie Scores Improbably Stupid Own Goal Goalie Scores Improbably Stupid Own Goal

Goalie Mickael Roche somehow scored this own goal in an Oceania Champions League match between AS Tefana (Tahiti) and Nadi (Fiji). If you recognize Roche’s name from anything, it’s probably because he was the poor sap in goal when Spain blasted Tahiti 10-0 in the 2013 Confederations Cup.

Coutinho Dunked On Argentina's Head Coutinho Dunked On Argentina's Head

As anyone familiar with the English Premier League or Brazil’s national team knows that Phillipe Coutinho is wont to try and bang in a long range golazo if you give him so much as an inch of space.
